More Survivor entries, an apology, and RAK WINNER!!

who know what else I’ll start rambling about!

But, first, let me start with the apology!  I said that I would be posting a How-To on the package bow and I just have not gotten that done yet.  I am so sorry!  But, I *WILL* get it done, I promise!  And when I do, I’ll post it here immediately!

Now, here are my Survivor entries for the latest challenge.  The challenge was to make 3 cards using chipboard and ribbon on each card.  For some crazy reason, I had it in my head that they all had to be “related” somehow too (Like have a common theme, use the same patterened paper on each, etc) so I used the same paisley stamp on all three cards.  Realized when I entered my pics that there was nothing on there about a “related” thing!  Oh well!  If you have any questions about how the cards were created, just leave me a comment!

 Paisley Love Card

The little “love” card that is stuck into the office folder on this card is a piece of chipboard and it has lines on it to write your love note on 🙂  Obviously, the ribbon is at the top. 🙂

Miracle Of Christmas Card

I heat embossed the paisley stamp with gold powder for the background.  I like the elegance it gives this card.  The black ‘slide’ and the gold scallop are chipboard, and the ribbon is threaded through the chipboard slide and is staples behind the image.

Christmas Paisley

Again, it has the paisley stamp.  I also dry brush painted the white cardstock with green paint.  The black scallop and the christmas tree are chipboard, and well…you can see the ribbon!

I’ve also been working on some entries for an “Iron Chef” online srapping challenge, but I haven’t decided what to submit quite yet.  This one has to include *paint *foam tape/pop dots & *decorative scissors.  Would you believe I haven’t used dec. scissors in YEARS???   😀

Hmmm…what else is new…well, I’m going to have a booth at my son’s fall festival next month and I’m trying to work on items to sell.  Some of the things I’m thinking of doing are:

-stamped candles

-altered composition books

-acrylic memo boards (like a dry erase board)

-stamped onesies and baby blankies

-altered jumbo paperclips for bookmarks

-“RSVP” pens (stamped)

-stamped coasters

-stamped tile magnets

-mini albums

These are some of the things I’ve thought of.  I’m not sure how much I’ll actually get done, but we’ll see.  If you have any cool ideas you’d like to share, please leave me a comment!

LAST, but NOT least… the WINNER of the RAK from the “help my color my  home” post is……………………………………………drum roll please…………………………….. ***Sarah***!!!  Congrats Sarah!  If I don’t hear from you in a couple days, I’ll email you to get your addy to send your goodies!

Survivor Challenge entries

Okay, so I’m participating in a scrapbooking “Survivor” challenge, and I thought I wasn’t supposed to post any pics of my entries so I didn’t include them in my entry down below, but I found out that I CAN post them on my blog, so here they are:

The Challenge:  To make two projects (Layouts or cards) using a sketch they provided as my starting point, and to use one or more of the following techniques – Twinkling H2O’s, Radiant Rain, or Doodling.  I don’t have either of the first two, so it was doodling for me!

 Here are my entries:
Back 2 School - Survivor CHallenge entry  Celebrate Card

***I hope to have a step by step tutorial up within the next coupla days for y’all!

I got new furniture! & Huh?

Okay, first the “Huh?” – I’m not sure why my ‘old’ slide is the same as my new slide….sorry bout that!

Now, on to the furniture…there is a furniture store in town that is going out of biz b/c the owners are ill and they are having a big ‘everything must go’ sale (it started Monday morning).  I was shocked when DH said “we should go see what they have” – he doesn’t like to part with his $$$ very often!  I figured we’d go, I’d fall in love with something and he’d say “nah, we don’t really need anything anyway”.  But, he didn’t!  We ended up buying a beautiful red couch & ottoman and 2 neutral recliners – this furniture is SO COMFY!  So…here are a couple pics…

We actually had a fairly new couch/loveseat set, but they are leather and my kids managed to rip a huge hole in one of them, so they are practically banned from this couch!  Well, not really banned, but there will be NO eating, NO jumping, NO wrestling, NO pens/pencils on this couch!

As you can see, I have a black ottoman too…I think I’m gonna do a red and black color scheme (with some tan thrown in), but I’d like repaint the walls…what color would YOU choose?  Leave me a comment and let me know, and I’ll randomly pick one person to send some scrapbooking goodies to!!!  Be sure and leave me your email too, in case YOU win!

Newest projects…

Although I’ve been very busy with “life” lately (cakes, kids, church, etc) I did manage to get a few layouts and some cards done.  The “Family” card is and ATC – my first time making one of those!  It was from an online challenge at I Love 2 Create – to make an ATC using at least one chipboard piece.  The clear card was also a result of a challenge at IL2C – to make a card/LO using something clear. The third card I made for my DD’s friend for her b/day.  The black and white card was made for a challenge/swap with my Stampin Club – the SAS-C (pronounced like Sassy) Girls – that stands for Stampin and Scrappin’ and Card-Makin’ girls – the challenge was to make and all black & white card with a metal embellishment somewhere.  My metal embelly is the “buckle” on the ribbon…it’s a soda can tab!

The two layouts were also done for the IL2C challenges.  The first was a challenge to use 4 photos.  The second LO was a challenge to use two patterned papers from different manufacturers.

Change, Change, Change

Okay, so I changed the room a bit again!  I’m still trying to figure out what the best furniture placement is so that everything flows well.

Let me know what you think, please!

The ‘new’ stand-up table/cabinet is from my Cake Studio – I didn’t really use it much in there and it is the perfect height for standing and I love that I can store my stuff in the drawers!

What a busy week…

Although I’ve not had any real “major” things going on, there were lots and lots of ‘little’ things and I feel like I’ve been going full speed all week!

So, what have I been up to with scrappin’??  Well, since you asked, I guess I’ll share a few pics with you!  First of all…I rearranged my scraproom AGAIN!  I know, I know…if you know me, you know I love to rearrange furniture all the time, but I just hadn’t found the right placement for everything so that it worked well and everything “flowed”.  I think I may have it now!  I still need to paint, and I want to put up a bulletin board somewhere, but over I think I like the placement of the tables and shelves.

I’ve also done some scrapbook pages and cards this week, but it’s after 1:00 am and I’m really tired, so I’ll share those tomorrow!
